Green Bay Packers are front‑and‑center at the NFL FLAG Championships, sending ten youth teams to the July 23‑26 tournament in Westfield, Indiana, and showcasing the organization’s commitment to the next generation of football talent.
The lineup spans Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois and even a Milwaukee school. It includes the Huskies (8U) from Green Bay, St. Francis Xavier Youth Football (12U Rec) in Cross Plains, and three Eau Claire Blue Rangers squads (10U‑G, 12U‑G, 14U). Milwaukee School of Languages fields a high‑school girls team, while the Fadesss Fighters send 9U‑10U and 11U‑12U squads from Saint Paul, Minnesota. The Kandiyohi County YMCA Roughnecks (10U Rec) travel from Willmar, and AllGo Sports Blue (14U‑G) represents Northbrook, Illinois.
Packers outreach manager Ryan Fencl said the club is "incredibly proud" of the athletes, noting that each school received a $5,000 travel stipend and Packers merchandise. The support feeds into Packers Give Back, which delivered over $15 million in charitable impact last year. By backing flag football, the Packers tap into a sport with roughly 20 million players globally and help grow participation that now reaches 830,000 players across more than 2,000 leagues.
ESPN will broadcast the action across its network, ABC, ESPN2, NFL Network, ESPN Deportes, NFL+, the ESPN app, Disney platforms and YouTube. International markets will also see games, giving the Packers‑affiliated squads exposure far beyond the Midwest. The event’s new home, Droplight Grand Park Sports Campus, offers over 30 fields on a 400‑acre complex, marking the first time the championship lands in Indiana.
The senior team sits 10th in the American Football Conference with a 7‑10 record and is on a one‑game losing streak as of the latest standings. Their next matchup is scheduled against the Minnesota Vikings on September 13, 2026. While the NFL squad works to climb the AFC ladder, the youth flag program builds a pipeline of future talent and fans.
Flag football is slated for an Olympic debut at the 2028 Los Angeles Games, and the NFL is partnering with TMRW Sports to launch a professional league for men and women. College programs are also moving toward a women’s flag championship, signaling a shift that could eventually feed back into the Packers’ community initiatives.
Families can register for free entry via the NFL OnePass app or NFLFlag.com/championships. Each adult registrant may add up to five children, making it easy for Packers fans to cheer on the local squads as they compete on a global stage.
